Shanpagne Uncorked

How a 10 minute quiz explained my whole career pivot

13 October 2025

Have you ever taken a personality quiz and thought, “Yikes! That explains… literally everything”?
Same. That happened to me when I took the 16 Personalities test.

I’d been hearing about it for years, but finally sat down and gave it a go. Turns out I’m an Advocate – INFJ for those who love a four-letter code. And let me tell you…this result slapped me in the face with more truth than I was ready for.

Suddenly, the years of career frustration, weird workplace tension, and internal conflict made sense. It wasn’t me being “too sensitive” or “not corporate enough.” I was just…an Advocate, trying to fit into a space that didn’t suit me at all.

The Job Wasn’t the Problem. The Fit Was.

If you’re anything like me, a people-loving, purpose-seeking, creative soul, you’ve probably spent a few years (or decades) trying to force yourself into roles that made your skin crawl.

On paper, I did all the “right” things. I worked hard. Showed up. Smiled through meetings that slowly killed my soul. But deep down, I felt like I was wearing someone else’s shoes…and they were giving me blisters.

I didn’t know it at the time, but being an INFJ means I thrive on meaningful connection, creative expression, and helping others through their chaos. So corporate KPIs and cut-throat cultures? Yeah…not exactly a vibe.

Forced Out And Finally Uncorked

Leaving the traditional workforce wasn’t something I planned. It was messy. Painful. Honestly? A bit of a meltdown moment.

But here’s the plot twist: Sometimes being forced out is the only way you find your way back to yourself.

I started writing. I started talking to other women who were juggling the same chaos. And slowly, Shanpagne Uncorked was born…a blog for the mayhem, the pivots, the parenting fails, and the “is this it?” moments we don’t talk about enough.

Why Everyone Needs to Take This Test

I wish I’d done it sooner. This quiz isn’t just fluff, it’s a mirror. It helps you get clear on how you actually work best, what fuels you, and why some roles feel like a prison while others feel like a warm hug.

If you’re stuck, burnt out, or Googling “jobs that don’t make me cry in the car,” please do yourself a favour and take the quiz.

👉 Click here to take the test. It’s free and gives you a detailed report (so it’s not necessary to upgrade to the paid version).

Then come back and let me know what you got. I’d love to hear how this resonates with you and your career journey!

Purpose Is the New Productivity

Here’s the thing: we spend so much of our lives working. If your job is constantly draining you or making you question your worth, maybe it’s not you. Maybe it’s the fit.

Finding something that aligns with your personality, whether it’s a new career, a side hustle, or a passion project isn’t just “nice to have.” It’s survival. It’s sanity. It’s the first step toward a more sustainable, uncorked life.
